Happy Autumn

Happy Autumn everyone,
I am loving the cooler mornings, but it seems as if our hot summer days are continuing into Fall.  Tom & I golfed yesterday and I went through 2 visors, but decided to make it through 18 holes, I will need a minimum of 3 visors.  My game was so bad, I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. Hopefully, I will do better on Thursday.

Last Saturday I was getting ready to go to a crop, but needed to clean up the kitchen a bit before I left. I had a plate in my hand and was going to put it in the dishwasher and somehow my leg bumped into the door and down I went!! I fell right on my tailbone - ouch!  It happened in slow motion, thank goodness, and I was able to catch myself.  I'm so thankful that I didn't seriously hurt myself.

I'm looking forward to our workshop this Thursday. We are going to have some Halloween fun.  Cats and Bats is on the menu. No we aren't going to eat cats and bats, we are going to make pages and cards with this adorable paper pack and embellishments.

I will be on vacation starting October 15th for a week.  Yes, we do have a friend staying at the house to take care of Sarge.  Sarge is really going to miss us. He is so used to having us both home for the most part. Of course, I will miss him so much too.

I have such a busy week, I hope I make it through and get everything done. 2 doctor appointments, workshop, golf, bunko, etc.
See you soon,
Shelly

September 11, 2017

It is hard to think that 9-11 happened so long ago. While we, here in Florida, get busy cleaning up after hurricane IRMA, we cannot forget what happened to our country so many years ago.  I know in other places, they are seeing shows about 9-11, but our local channels are only showing the damages from IRMA, over and over again… So, it is a solemn day for everyone around the country. We can never forget the attack from humans.  A natural disaster is one thing, 9-11 is quite another.

Blessings to all of you.  Thank God that we are safe.

Shelly

Hurricane IRMA is bearing down on Florida as I write this. We have done all we can to prepare.  I plan on doing many crafts this weekend. Yesterday I went out a few times to check on some neighbors and finish up our patio clearing.  Quite a bit is in our eat-in kitchen area with only a few things in the garage. If we lose power, we will move the grill out to the garage to cook our food. I don’t plan on us losing power for too long; maybe wishful thinking.

More and more people in our neighborhood are boarding up their homes. Oh well, too late for us now. After it passes and the clean-up is complete, we may have to get the plywood and clamps for next time.  As we were draining our pool/spa Tom noticed that our pump is squirting water out of the tip of it…not good. We are now having constant rain and some wind gusts. I certainly won’t be walking much today and I feel so restless.

September is such a busy and wonderful month for Close To My Heart (CTMH). First it is National Stamping month so we have a very nice cardmaking kit that I know you will love.  https://cdn.closetomyheart.com/2017/image-gallery/1709-cc-fb-cardkit.jpg

Next, CTMH has offered a very inspirational Stamp Set to help us get through all of the disasters going on right now – Hurricane Harvey clean-up and assistance, Hurrican IRMA right now, all of the fires out in the west/northwest. It is a set with sentiments, such as ‘tough times don’t last TOUGH People do’, ‘WE’RE IN THIS together’, ‘believe in miracles’ ‘KEEP CALM & Fight On’ and a few others. All proceeds (even Consultant commissions) go to the Red Cross.

My Acrylix® Stronger Together (C1716)

I was falling asleep so I went to bed before I could finish this.

We had a good time at our workshop yesterday. I got out some of my older CTMH paper packs and made 3 2-page layouts for our upcoming Anniversary cruise in October. I combined No Worries with Majestic Blue and Moon Doggie.  The paper/cardstock was perfect for the cruise.
Once I get the photos on these pages, I can add a few more embellishments.
The very next photo is a page for my Grandma and will be at the start of my heritage album, featuring my Dad's side of my family.
Our new products are perfect for every occasion. The colors are so versatile - vibrant, subtle, exciting and beautiful. So, I can make cruise pages, heritage pages, grandchildren pages, nature pages and cards for anything and everything.  AND, I can't say enough great things about our new stamp sets. Wonderful stamp sets and die cuts.
I will continue to work on my cruise pages and the heritage album over the next few months.
Thanks for visiting!!  I hope you enjoyed your visit. Come back again soon...

Hi Crafting Friends,
I have been so busy cataloging my new products from the specials on stamps and all the wonderful new products in our new Annual Inspirations Idea Book for 2017-2018, I almost can't keep up. I am having so much fun. I think I do have my stamp set list up to date. I must have gotten 50 stamp sets and I love all the new ones I got plus some older ones brought back for our Stampaganza in July. (Thanks to all of you who took advantage of that great special)

This month, August, we are having weekly Warehouse Sales...another way to pick up some fabulous products from Close To My Heart. The new list of products for the coming week comes out tomorrow. I'm excited. There is always something I need - okay, maybe I don't need them, but I WANT them.

I missed one of my favorite crops on Saturday because my tummy was out of sorts AND my phone had died, so I had to spend the whole morning trying to figure out if I could fix the phone or if I would need to send it in. Luckily, the company is honoring the warranty and I sent it in to get it repaired or replaced. BUT, now I won't have a phone for the next 2 weeks. I feel lost without it. We are all so dependent upon our technology, aren't we? I could have just bought a new phone, but mine was only a year old, so I wanted to fix it. Anyway, back to cropping... I am working on my Heritage album, so I worked on that on Sunday. I lucked into getting copies of some old family photos and I am having fun with those. It is wonderful seeing the photos of my Aunts and Uncles as young people and my cousins and I getting together as youngsters. Our family, on my Father's side, is so big and those photos bring back such precious memories. I may not have been around when my Aunts and Uncles were graduating or getting married, but I have quite a few photos and I love them. I wonder if I can get the whole album completed this year!  That's a big goal for me.

I am also busy making scrapbook pages for our upcoming Anniversary cruise in October. Tom and I will be celebrating 17 years marred this year. We were together 9 years before we got married, so it's been awhile.  It is hard for me to believe tat we've been together that long.  I've pulled out some older papers and embellishments from CTMH that fit into the theme.  I didn't even know I had them!
LOL - I have too much stuff...NOT

We are having such hot weather this summer.  It actually is good for me though, because I don't want to go outside, I just want to stay in the air conditioned house and craft.  Now that I'm almost caught up on organizing my New items, I will have more time to have fun with them.  Do you all have so many projects that you want to do that you can't figure out where to start?  I have that problem.

I must put this photo of E on a page by itself...

Well, I didn't get to finish this today because I didn't take photos of my finished pages from Sunday. I know, it's Wednesday already.

My orders are coming in and I am getting more excited by the hour. I can't wait for our BIG REVEAL on July 29th. I hope everyone who will be here is as excited as I am!! I only have one more order to receive (this Tuesday - WOO HOO) and I will be ready.

ARE YOU ALL READY FOR THE BIG REVEAL?????

Last night I went to "paint night" at Rio Pinar CC. Anne and Michele went with me and we had a great time. I couldn't believe that I actually painted on canvas and it didn't turn out half bad. Now I need to find a place to hang it and show it off...  Michele and I had a few glasses of wine, so it was even more fun.  Who would like to join us next month?  We are going to do a wine glass with wine pouring in and making a wave.  That will have to go in my kitchen.  If you want details, give me a call.

Tomorrow, Anne, Maggie and I will be going to the Salvation Army crop and garage sale. I've been gathering products that I'd like to sell, including some new/unused Close To My Heart Stamp Sets.  I will also have a few kits, embellishments and other fun things. The Salvation Army crop is fun and there is lots of space for each cropper.  I really need to get a few projects completed.

Don't forget - come on over for the BIG REVEAL, Saturday, July 29th. Crop starts at 11:00 am and the BIG REVEAL will start around 4:00 pm. Come see our new card stock, ink colors, embellishments, Thin Cuts, Embossing Folders and organizational items.

Our new Workshop Group starts in August. If you are interested in being a part of our Workshops, let me know. Workshops are fun and a great opportunity to get cards or scrapbook pages done and ready to send or put photos on. We have good food also...it's always yummy here.

Be on the lookout for my OPEN CROPS twice a month. I post the dates and information on Facebook (Shelly's CTMH), Nextdoor and here in the blog.

See you at the BIG REVEAL!!!

Hi Crafting Friends, I am having an OPEN CROP and BIG REVEAL party on July 29th. The CROP starts at 11:00 am. A crop is an event for crafters of any kind. "crop" means trimming photos to be placed on scrapbook pages of all different sizes. I could call this a CRAFT EVENT and I may change it in the future.  That way, new people who do crafts of any kind will feel as if this is an event they can attend.
THE BIG REVEAL will feature the new Close To My Heart Annual Inspiration Idea Book. This will start at 4:00 pm. We may play a game, but we will have prizes and great food for sure.  We will also do a craft with all new products - WOO HOO!! We will have tons of fun!
Call me to rsvp, please. 407-247-9574 ( I need to know how many for the food and prizes). Thanks, in advance!
If you'd like to know more about what we do, please visit my website and blog (listed below).

Well, I am having a really hard time finding the photos on my pc. I insert the SD card and it doesn't show it. I made sure that I took my camera so that I could download the photos and I've been looking for them for days!

Oh, I just reinserted the SD card and it finally came up. YEAH!
I hope you enjoy these photos from our 2017 CTMH Convention in Salt Lake City UT.

CTMH Convention 2017 - Salt Lake City Utah

WHEW! What a busy few months I have had. I got back from our CTMH Convention 2017 last Monday afternoon and I was exhausted.  I really had to catch up on my sleep. Utah was beautiful, but the altitude did get to me, even though it isn't very high. I walked everywhere - except to the airport and back. It was hot, but not humid.
Convention was a blast! I had the best roommate - Marie Goetz! It was fun getting to know her and some of her fellow Ohio Consultants.
I am so very excited this year and rarin' to go!  Our new Idea Book goes live on August 1st and I love it. Then we also got a new Seasonal Expressions for September 1 through December 31st and I LOVE everything in it. I am NOT kidding. There are some gorgeous, exciting and fun new things that I can't wait to share with you all.  Keep reading because I will be posting photos of Convention and give you some sneak peaks of great things to come.
We had some truly inspirational speakers at Convention. And some great business classes. One in particular was about Social Media by Karen Pederson. I have so much to learn about systems I don't currently use now. So, I will be busy getting up to speed on some of that. Is there a book entitled "Instagram for Dummies"?  I need it!  Oh, I bet I can google it and learn all about it.  That is the first thing I am going to learn...now that I've caught up on my sleep!
So, I made some interesting observations about Salt Lake City. The Salt Palace was beautiful and easy to get to, plus so close to hotels and restaurants. It really was nice. I loved walking around the part of downtown that we were in. Here are my favorite things I observed:
  • Restaurants served real butter
  • The streets were so clean, it was impressive
  • There are huge rocks, boulders and landscaping around the streets (made for very calming and beautiful walks)
  • The UTA cable cars were pretty cool
  • Art also lined the streets and it was very interesting
  • From certain spots, I could peak at some mountains (no pun intended)
  • It's a dry heat
  • The weather was beautiful and so many of the streets had wonderful shade
  • They had bikes there, parked along the curbs that you could rent - if I though I could have ridden, I would have tried one...but it has been way too many years since I've been on a bike
  • The whole place seemed so conscious of the environment and keeping it beautiful
The idea of butter being served was so pleasant - there is nothing I dislike more than opening up a hot roll and spreading oleo (yes, I'm showing my age) and not having it spread and melt as gloriously as butter.  Hey, I'm just a country girl at heart.

Workshop is this Thursday - starting at 2 pm. We will be working with our Prickly Pear Kits. I love the cacti stamps and Thin Cuts.

July OPEN CROP days are July 15th and 29th - yes 2 Saturdays. The 29th will include the BIG REVEAL to present our 2017-2018 Idea Book, play a game or two and win prizes. Crops start at 11 am and go until you are too tired to crop another photo!  Bring your drink and a snack to share and a project or two...

I hope to see as many of you as possible!

HAPPY NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY

I'm so excited.  Most of you know that May was already a special month for me, but now it is even more special:  It is National Scrapbooking month!  This month is going to be so busy for me.  I get to spend Wednesday through Saturday with my leader, Tina, and a few other CTMH Consultants working, eating and having some fun.  Tomorrow we are going to the Magic Kingdom.   I wonder if it will be hot?? LOL  That's the fun part.
Thursday, we all go to work - at Stamp and Scrapbook EXPO. Thursday is set-up day. That will be a ton of work. Thank goodness there are more than a few of us.
Friday and Saturday will be fun and work. I love meeting all of the other crafters at EXPO. It's amazing how many of the same people I see year after year.  EXPO is wonderful.  I will be working for Tina this year. I actually met Tina in 2007 or 2009 (I can't remember exactly) at the EXPO. She is an amazing artist, motivator and friend.
Sunday, I may have to sleep all day!
Since it is National Scrapbooking Month, Close To My Heart also has a fabulous Special to help us celebrate.  Yesterday I received my package and it is beautiful - as always! It includes the Live Beautifully Cut Above™  layout kit, a My Legacy™ album  (D-ring or post-bound), one Marvy® Uchida® LePen™ journaling pen, and one Tombow®  permanent adhesive.  It has everything needed to create some wonderful pages. Ok, so maybe Sunday I will be working on this lovely Kit. This kit is only available this month, while supplies last. You can get the layout kit alone or get a discount by buying it as part of an album bundle. And if you love the look of these pages, be sure to check out the coordinating Live Beautifully paper packet and My Acrylix® Live Beautifully stamp set!

THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO POST ON MAY 1ST, BUT SOMETHING WENT WRONG - I LOST THE SECOND HALF OF THE POST AND THEN IT WOULDN'T POST.

I get to have 2 of my Grandsons this weekends. I can't wait! it has been way too long. I miss them now that I don't get to see them as often. I love the summertime because they spend more time with me. I plan to have tons of fun with them this summer in the pool, fishing, baking and making projects. School can't be over soon enough for this Grandma. I'm more impatient than school kids! LOL
Without the pool to play in, I've got to put my thinking cap on to figure out how to keep them busy for 2 full days.

Have a great week - see you Friday!!

Tuesday, February 28, 2017

Well, yesterday I crafted most of the day - WOO HOO. Then I decided to join in on the fun of the Close To My Heart (CTMH) Color Dare for this week. I enjoyed putting together a "family" page using the colors required. I like the way it turned out. NOW, I have to figure out how to link it to the CTMH Color Dare blog. I wish I knew someone who could help me with blogging...

It took me quite awhile to add a link to my CTMH website - which I did last week - but I forgot what I did!  I hate when that happens. But now, you can read this and then shop!!

Here is my Color Dare artwork:

A little bling and lots of LOVE
"FAMILY" is highlighted on the CTMH word search paper. Colors are Fern, Sapphire, Lemon and Daisy White. The photo is from December 2010 and includes my Mom & Dad, my 2 sons and my 3 grandsons.

I also worked on our monthly workshop scrapbook pages: Dreamin' Big. I love the bugs!!  Especially since I have 3 Grandsons. It is perfect for them. I will finish today and post all 6 or 8 pages tomorrow.

My friends Anne and Debbie are coming by today to work on their Wreaths. Can't wait to see how theirs turn out!

Happy Scrapping,

Thursday, February 23, 2017

Hello again,
I have not done any crafting today. I was supposed to update some HOA documents and didn't do that either. I didn't finish the laundry load I was supposed to finish. Actually, I don't know what I did all day. Oh, we did order Pizza Hut and so I had my favorite personal pan pizza. I ordered 2 and a medium pizza for Tom. We were supposed to split the second personal pan - but he ate the whole thing! I couldn't believe it. Now he has part of the medium pizza left and I don't have anything...woe is me.

I read one of my favorite bloggers today - she does recipes, which aren't my favorite, but her blog is so funny. Today she talked about NOT closing cabinet doors & drawers when she is busily baking or cooking. Her husband comes home and counts each drawer or door as he closes them. Even though she has hurt herself numerous times, she still does it. I laugh out loud when I read her blog. Other than Close To My Heart, I don't really follow any other blogs...

I was able to talk to both Ethan and Seth last night. Ethan, at 10, doesn't talk much. He probably has better things to do. BUT, my little Seth is a talker. He won't stop. If I ask him what he did today, he will tell me everything, and I mean EVERYTHING!!  Seriously, he told me what he does from the time he gets to school until he leaves for the day. He told me all the things he learned also...what he is studying and his favorite subjects. What a doll-baby!

Bonus - I got to see Tristan - the middle Grandson. I finally dropped off my D-I-L's Christmas gift and got to give my T a big hug and kiss. We didn't have much time to talk, but it's ok. Vanesa loved her gift, T liked his new kitten ornament (they got a new kitty) and Stuart liked his statuette of the UCF stadium. (Thanks, Peggy!!)

It's Thursday night and I don't watch any TV on Thursdays. I guess I'd better get busy with my HOA documents.

Talk to you soon. It's time for my favorite snack - iced mild and a nutty bar!! YUM, YUM

End of February is coming up soon

WOW - how cool. I haven't been blogging too often because I have to keep up the FB page, the emails, my events and trying to do my Newsletter. Regarding the Newsletter, I think I will do it every other month. Regarding this blog, I have been trying to set up the "shop with me" link to my website and I couldn't figure it out. My computer specialist son, Stuart, couldn't help because he's been so busy and he doesn't know that much about blogging. But TODAY I figured it out and it actually worked!  Now, I'm excited. So, if you'd like to shop for anything you see on my blog or want to look at new products, etc...the hyperlink works.  YEAH

We have had a busy month. Tom had back surgery at the end of January and instead of recuperating like he should, I think he is overdoing it a bit. Time will tell...

For a short month, February always takes more time than other months. Must be in my head only though, because it really doesn't have more days, they are just slowly passing.  Even so, I didn't get my so-called monthly Newsletter done - so I'm changing it to every other month. I need to use my new Close To My Heart Planner to plan and set deadlines. It's not as if I watch a lot of TV or anything either. I don't know what I do all day, hmmm,  I need to think more about this and see what changes I need to make regarding my schedule.

2 of my grandsons have birthdays coming up - March 10th and 14th - brothers, 5 years apart. So we usually celebrate them together.  I'm hoping we go bowling this year. Many of us bowl and it is so much fun. I haven't bowled in awhile, but I'm sure I could still throw it down and hit a few pins...LOL

I have to check the camera to see if I have any photos to share of our artwork.  BUT - I hope some of you will post your work here on the blog. Also, comments are welcome and encouraged anytime.

Don't forget we have an open crop this Saturday from 11 am until 9 or 10. I'm looking forward to having some new croppers. If not this Saturday, maybe next month.

There is still time to get in on the February special, if you've ever thought about joining my team, now is the time. You only have to host a party and any rewards can be put towards your Kit.

The kit we are working with at the next Workshop is Dreamin' Big:
Papers
Here are a few cards that I'm in the process of making. I have to wait for glitter and Liquid Glass to dry before I can finish.

Thanks for visiting. See you again soon on the internet.

Tom was able to drive home today after his back surgery yesterday. Boy, laser surgery is easier than what I had done a couple years ago. I was in the hospital for 4 days, I think. Maybe it just felt like I was in there that long. I was very surprised that he drove home today, that's for sure. I think he wants me to take care of him though. That's a good thing, I don't mind. He has spent most of today sleeping, but tomorrow he is going to have to get out a take a few short walks. I guess I will have to force him to walk. It is much easier to lay around and recover, but with his blood clot problem, it is better if he starts walking keeps walking.

I didn't get any crafting in today. I was busy checking out all the posts about our crop yesterday and seeing photos of artwork on my page and on the CTMH Artwork page. I don't have any new photos to post, but maybe tomorrow.

I have to take care of my baby now!!

Friday, January 27, 2017

I must say, we had fun today at our crop. I had a bit of a problem really getting going on my crafts, but otherwise, it was such a great get-together. I did get a few things done, thank goodness.  Sometimes, the social aspect of the crop, is the most important part.  But I must get my photos onto some new pages soon. I printed out most of my 2016 photos, so I must get busy.
I have many fun photos to scrapbook...
  1. Seth graduates from pre-school
  2. Ethan playing soccer
  3. Tristan playing soccer
  4. Seth's broken arm (again)
  5. First day of school for my 3 Grandsons
  6. Halloween - my Grandsons and a few of our Grand-nieces/nephews
  7. Thanksgiving
  8. Christmas
  9. CTMH party at Tina's
  10. CTMH Convention
  11. Scrapbook EXPO
  12. CROPPING with friends
Whoa, I really have to get started, I mean, I have to continue....

It is definitely time to hit the hay, as we used to say.

I hope to post some photos tomorrow, so please visit again soon.

Thanks for stopping by!
Shelly

Januray 25 2017

Well, I know I haven't posted lately, but it has been a busy time. I've been trying to catch up on my crafting. January is National Papercrafting Month and CTMH had a very special Wreath Kit to celebrate. I made my Wreath and I think it turned out pretty well for me.
I have it hanging in the crop area, but will move to my craft room eventually. It should motivate me to keep organizing and then be more creative.

Today I made a really neat card for a musical friend of mine. I owe her a letter/note, so I hope she likes this.  This inside is cute too.

Having another crop this Friday and I'm hoping to have a few new people. That's the best part about the crops. We have such a great time and are truly enjoying getting to know each other.
Here are a few cards made with the Hello Lovely Kit. These are made with the pink papers. Tomorrow I'm going to make some cards using the green papers.

Enjoy your evening and hopefully you will stop in tomorrow.
